Concept phase: Alex Pardee created multiple character sketches exploring expressions, asymmetry, and the signature goo-eye moment. Color studies defined the pumpkin’s palette and the eye’s iridescent properties.
Sculpting: Greg Aronowitz translated Pardee’s 2D concept into a tactile sculpture, starting with a digital sculpts build for proportion checks, then refining a master sculpt by hand to preserve organic textures — rind grooves, stitched mouth details, and drips of goo.
Molding & casting: From the master sculpt, silicone molds were produced for small-batch resin casting. Each cast was cleaned, sanded, and assembled by hand.
Painting & finishing: A combination of airbrushing for base gradients and hand detailing for weathering, stains, and highlights. The eye received a multi-step pour and polish technique to achieve depth and gloss.
Quality control: Each figurine passed inspection for paint fidelity, structural integrity, and eye clarity before being numbered and packaged.
