Jack in the Box began as one of Rhode Montijo’s playful creations from the Fantasmical World of Rhode, and was reimagined by Greg Aronowitz as a sculpted hanging ornament.
The sculpture was made using armature wire, styrene plastic, and epoxy resin. Greg felt it was important to capture all the character in Alex’s sketch, while maintaining a physical balance so the ornament could be hung or stand on its own two feet. After the sculpture was finished, it was molded in silicone rubber. From this mold, two urethane castings were made. One was fully polished to be used as a mold master by our factory, the other was painted to become the deco master.These masters were sent to Hong Kong and used to create our line of ornaments. Constant supervision and quality control done directly by our main artists ensure that the ornament you purchase is exactly the same as the original we created in our studio. Every ornament is packaged in a collector’s box with a customized foam insert and a certificate of authenticity which includes Rhode’s and Greg’s signatures.
